Leadership Programs

The FFA Enrichment Center is dedicated to providing a high-quality learning environment and support services for educational programs and events hosted by recognized members and partners of the Iowa Agricultural Education family Iowa FFA Association, Iowa Association of Agricultural Educators (IAAE), Postsecondary Agricultural Students of Iowa (PAS), Iowa FFA Alumni, Career & Technical Student Organizations, and any other organizations that request leadership, personal and/or professional development workshops.

With nearly 30,000 square feet of meeting rooms, classrooms, and conference room space, the Center offers programs that promote leadership development, personal growth, and career success for members of the Iowa Ag Ed family and Career & Technical Student Organizations.  This training is accomplished via hands-on workshops, seminars, conferences, and courses that either are developed by the FFA Enrichment Center staff, or purchased through an outside entity for the primary users.

Programming Options: 

Strengths Coaching for Individuals, Managers and Teams  

Let’s start focusing on what is right with you and our team, instead of focusing on what may be wrong. Strengths coaching conversations start with the foundation of Gallup’s Clifton StrengthsFinder® assessment. Every coaching conversation has increased performance at it’s core. Strengths coaching can help to identify your unique areas of talent and harness those areas of talent productively. For teens and young adults, strengths-based conversations can help in aiming towards degree and career areas that suit their unique natural talents.

Decades of research show that within the workforce, people working in the area of their individual strengths:

  • Look forward to going to work
  • Have more positive than negative interactions with coworkers
  • Treat customers better
  • Tell their friends they work for a great company
  • Achieve more on a daily basis

Habitudes: Images That Form Leadership Habits & Attitudes®  

Habitudes are a fun, creative, and engaging way for the next generation to learn and practice leadership. Habitudes teach timeless character and leadership principles through the power of an image, a conversation, and an experience.

Habitudes help students:

  • Break out of the herd mentality to influence others in positive ways.
  • Create environments that are conducive to higher grades.
  • Develop skills to become self-directed learners.
  • Raise empathy and minimize bullying.
  • Capitalize on personal strengths to be career-ready.
  • Develop critical thinking skills that produce better life choices, such as choosing healthy friends, improving study habits, and setting meaningful goals.

Our Leadership Development Manager is a Habitudes Certified Facilitator. Please contact the FFA Enrichment Center to discuss options for incorporating Habitudes into your leadership development program.

Small Group Leadership Development Events

A variety of options are now available for small group leadership development. Leadership training can be tailored to fit the unique needs of your group. Program development menus are now available for small groups of 30 individuals or fewer.

IMPACT Institute

In January 2014, the FFA Enrichment Center developed and executed the IMPACT Institute. This conference was organized for 50 junior and senior Iowa FFA members. the full day conference focused on making an impact on others through personal character, effective communication, building relationships, service to others, and developing a personal mission statement.

Requests for Program Development (RFPD)

To enhance educational, professional, and leadership development opportunities within the Center this “Request for Program Development” (RFPD) form allows any interested organization an opportunity to request assistance and development of programming. The RFPD is additionally utilized by Iowa FFA Foundation and FFA Enrichment Center staff as a directive tool in prioritizing programming at the Center.

Please note RFPD proposals are due by June 1st and December 1st for semi-annual review. For best results, please ensure that the RFPD timeline for implementation is at least 6 months from submission due date as space, resources, and staff time may be limited at certain points throughout the year.
